ODBridge did not come out of a market study. It came out of experiencing the struggle for decades.
I'm John Martinelli. I've spent 38 years in the private practice my father started back in 1965 - with a little MD detour 22 years in. I was also an ocular disease preceptor for the Pennsylvania College of Optometry for nearly 15 years before entering medical school. I personally helped train dozens of OD's along the way.
In that time I've watched many excellent OD's take the wrong position, and many great practices bring on the wrong OD. Almost never because either one was careless. Because they simply didn't know what was best for the other.
The doctors who would have been perfect for your practice have a position already. And if they want a new opportunity, it's much more difficult to act on it - under the umbrella of a current practice. So they stay where they are - many unsatisfied. Meanwhile you still can't find anyone.
That's a visibility problem. It's a matching problem we're going to solve.
The ODBridge reverse model isn't speculative. Nursing already did it - building profiles with hospitals applying to them - a huge resource has been built. Eyecare has job listings, schools, and expensive headhunters. Eyecare has nothing which runs the other way. So we're building it.
